Cumberland Pirates (Toledo, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Argenta-Oreana Bombers (Argenta, IL), 9-8 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 7-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mt. Zion for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 18. Cumberland will battle a Braves squad coming off a 14-4 non-league win over Rochester (Rochester, IL). The Braves record now stands at 12-1.

With the loss, Argenta-Oreana falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Bombers travel to St. Thomas More (Champaign, IL) to battle the Sabers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Sabers enter the challenge with a record of 1-8. St. Thomas More lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Rantoul (Rantoul, IL)
