Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL) and the host Auburn Trojans (Auburn, IL), witnessed Springfield's softball squad tip Auburn by a count of 5-3.

The Senators now sport a 11-1 record. They play next when they travel to Normal University for a Central State Eight match on Tuesday, April 18. Springfield will meet a Pioneers squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL). The Pioneers record now stands at 14-4.

With the loss, Auburn moves to 13-6 on the season. The Trojans travel to Olympia (Stanford, IL) to meet the Spartans in a Sangamo match on Thursday, April 20. The Spartans go into the match with a record of 10-2. Olympia won 2-1 in their recent non-league match against Pontiac (Pontiac, IL)
