Hamilton Emerald Knights (Hamilton, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Brookfield Central Beavers (Brookfield, NY), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Emerald Knights now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Poland for a Section 3 Center State IV challenge on Wednesday, April 19.

With the loss, Brookfield Central falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Beavers host Otselic Valley (South Otselic, NY) to battle the Vikings in a Section 3 Central Counties - American challenge on Thursday, April 20. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
