Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Central Cass Squirrels (Casselton, ND) and the visiting Thompson Tommies (Thompson, ND), witnessed Central Cass's softball squad tip Thompson by a count of 6-2.
The Squirrels now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Enderlin for a non-league match on Tuesday, April 18.
With the loss, Thompson moves to 0-1 on the season. The Tommies host North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] (Walhalla, ND) to meet the Eagles in a Class B - East Region 2 match on Friday, April 21. The Eagles go into the match with a record of 0-0.
