Pavilion Golden Gophers (Pavilion, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Wayland-Cohocton Eagles (Wayland, NY), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Gophers now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they host Geneseo for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 19. Pavilion will face a Blue Devils squad coming off a 13-1 league loss to Le Roy (Le Roy, NY). The Blue Devils record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Wayland-Cohocton falls to 4-1 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Livonia (Livonia, NY) to face the Bulldogs in a Livingston County Division I challenge on Thursday, April 20. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 2-5. Livonia lost 16-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Batavia (Batavia, NY)
