North Carolina High School Softball - Asheboro bounces Western Guilford

The Asheboro Blue Comets routed the host Western Guilford Hornets softball squad by a count of 23-5 in Wednesday's non-league battle.

The Blue Comets (2-11) will now prepare for their battle against North Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Black Knights go into the Mid-Piedmont 3A battle with a 12-6 record. In their last battle, North Davidson topped Bandys (Catawba, NC), 7-1, in a non-league battle.

The Hornets now sport a 0-12 record. They play next when they travel to Southeast Guilford for a Metro 4A battle on Friday, April 19. Western Guilford will meet a Falcons squad coming off a 17-12 league loss to Northern Guilford (Greensboro, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 7-8.
