Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bluefield Beavers (Bluefield, WV), 7-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 11-6 record. They take the field next when they host Nicholas County for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. Greenbrier East will battle a Grizzlies squad coming off a 5-4 league loss to Independence (Coal City, WV). The Grizzlies record now stands at 6-7.

With the loss, Bluefield falls to 9-3 on the campaign. The Beavers travel to Princeton (Princeton, WV) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 10-8. Princeton won 5-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Greenbrier West (Charmco, WV)
