Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC), 13-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Ironmen now sport a 14-2 record. They take the field next when they host Highland Tech for a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A challenge on Thursday, April 18. Cherryville will face a Rams squad coming off a 16-0 league loss to Cherryville (Cherryville, NC). The Rams record now stands at 0-11.

With the loss, Piedmont Community Charter falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Patriots host Union Preparatory (Indian Trail, NC) to face the Polar Bears in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. The Polar Bears enter the challenge with a record of 2-2. Union Preparatory won 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC)
