Dixie Heights Colonels (Edgewood, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Mercy McAuley Wolves (Cincinnati, OH), 12-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Colonels now own a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bracken County for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. Dixie Heights will battle a Polar Bears squad coming off a 17-0 league win over Augusta (Augusta, KY). The Polar Bears record now stands at 12-4.

With the loss, Mercy McAuley falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Wolves travel to Bishop Fenwick (Franklin, OH) to battle the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 4-5. Bishop Fenwick won 11-6 in their recent league challenge against Chaminade Julienne Catholic (Dayton, OH)
