Red Mountain Mountain Lions (Mesa, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host O'Connor Eagles (Phoenix, AZ), 6-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Mountain Lions now own a 23-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mesa for a 6A East Valley challenge on Friday, April 19. Red Mountain will battle a Jackrabbits squad coming off a 18-5 league loss to Mountain View (Mesa, AZ). The Jackrabbits record now stands at 4-19.

With the loss, O'Connor falls to 17-10 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Pinnacle (Phoenix, AZ) to battle the Pioneers in a 6A Desert Valley challenge on Friday, April 19. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a record of 22-3. Pinnacle won 20-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Horizon (Scottsdale, AZ)
