The Brenham Cubs baseball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Iowa Colony Pioneers to 7 in the Cubs non-league win on Thursday.

The Cubs now hold a 18-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rudder for a 5A Region III District 17 test on Tuesday, April 22. Brenham will play a Rangers team coming off a 6-2 league loss to College Station (College Station, TX). The Rangers record now stands at 11-12.

With the defeat, Iowa Colony drops to 16-9 on the year. The Pioneers travel to La Porte (La Porte, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 5A Region III District 20 test on Tuesday, April 22. The Bulldogs go into the test with a record of 16-10. La Porte won 6-3 in their recent league test against Angleton (Angleton, TX)
