In Thursday's non-league game, the host Dobyns-Bennett Indians baseball team scored a close 5-0 win over the Sevier County Smoky Bears.
The Indians (19-5) will now prepare for their game against University School (Johnson City, TN). The Buccaneers go into the non-league game with a 12-4 record. In their last game, University School nudged Hampton (Hampton, TN), 18-4, in a non-league game.
Next, the Smoky Bears play the Canfield Cardinals (Canfield, OH) in a non-league game, on Friday, April 18. Sevier County will attempt to improve on its 12-14 season record. The Cardinals go into the game with a 6-2 record after their 5-4 league loss to Austintown-Fitch (Youngstown, OH).
