Sachem East (Farmingville, NY) followers exited the stadium in high spirits Thursday as they saw their lacrosse team top the host Walt Whitman Wildcats (Huntington Station, NY), 16-5 in a league game.

With the victory, Sachem East advances its record to 1-0 on the season.

The Wildcats now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bay Shore for a Section 11 I game on Monday, April 21. Walt Whitman will play a Marauders team coming off a 11-10 non-league win over Center Moriches (Center Moriches, NY). The Marauders record now stands at 1-0.
