In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Watauga Pioneers lacrosse squad scored a tight 8-7 triumph over the Asheville School (Independent) Blues.

The Pioneers (4-12) will now prepare for their challenge against West Stokes (King, NC). The Wildcats go into the non-league challenge with a 7-5 record.

Next, the Blues clash with the Greensboro Day School Bengals (Greensboro, NC) in a NCISAA - Division II challenge, on Tuesday, April 22. Asheville School (Independent) will attempt to better on its 1-7 season record. The Bengals go into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 11-8 non-league win over Providence (Charlotte, NC).
