The Mason County Royals softball team scored 11 runs and held the host West Carter Comets to 7 in the Royals non-league win on Thursday.

The Royals now possess a 5-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bourbon County for a non-league battle on Friday, April 18. Mason County will confront a Colonels team coming off a 10-1 league win over Paris (Paris, KY). The Colonels record now stands at 4-12.

With the loss, West Carter moves to 6-7 on the season. The Comets host Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY) to confront the Lions in a non-league battle on Saturday, April 19. The Lions come into the battle with a record of 9-9. Lewis County lost 17-5 in their recent non-league battle against Bracken County (Brooksville, KY)
