The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Nonnewaug Chiefs (Woodbury, CT) and the visiting Staples Wreckers (Westport, CT), observed Nonnewaug's softball team get by Staples by a tally of 8-5.

The Chiefs (6-0) will now prepare for their bout against Housatonic (Falls Village, CT). The Mountaineers go into the Berkshire bout with a 0-1 record. In their last bout, Housatonic was routed by Shepaug Valley (Washington, CT), 22-4, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Wreckers clash with the McMahon Senators (Norwalk, CT) in a Fairfield County bout, on Monday, April 21. Staples will attempt to advance on its 1-1 season record. The Senators go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 20-3 league loss to Stamford (Stamford, CT).
