The Wheeling Wildcats (Wheeling, IL) softball routed the visiting Elgin Maroons (Elgin, IL), 12-1 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Wildcats now sport a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Highland Park for a non-league outing on Monday, April 20. Wheeling will encounter a Giants team coming off a 17-4 non-league win over Hoffman Estates (Hoffman Estates, IL). The Giants record now stands at 1-4.

With the loss, Elgin moves to 0-7 on the season. The Maroons host Larkin (Elgin, IL) to encounter the Royals in a Upstate Eight outing on Monday, April 20. The Royals come into the outing with a record of 7-8. Larkin won 21-0 in their recent non-league outing against Round Lake (Round Lake, IL)
