Canton Warriors (Canton, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT), 18-3 in a non-league bout.

The Warriors (3-2) will now prepare for their bout against Ellington (Ellington, CT). The Knights go into the North Central Connecticut bout with a 5-1 record.

The Yellowjackets now possess a 2-2 record. They play next when they host Northwestern Regional for a Berkshire bout on Wednesday, April 20. Gilbert will battle a Highlanders team coming off a 18-0 non-league win over Housatonic-Wamogo (Falls Village, CT). The Highlanders record now stands at 4-0.
