Freeport Falcons (Freeport, ME) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Morse Shipbuilders (Bath, ME), 9-4 in a league challenge.

The Falcons now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mt. Ararat for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 21.

With the loss, Morse falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Shipbuilders travel to Gray-New Gloucester (Gray, ME) to face the Patriots in a Class B South challenge on Friday, April 22. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Gray-New Gloucester lost 16-1 in their recent league challenge against Poland (Poland, ME)
