Pewamo-Westphalia Pirates (Pewamo, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hemlock Huskies (Hemlock, MI), 11-8 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lansing Catholic for a Capital Area - White challenge on Saturday, April 23.

With the loss, Hemlock falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Michigan Lutheran Seminary (Saginaw, MI) to face the Cardinals in a Tri-Valley - West II challenge on Friday, April 22. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Michigan Lutheran Seminary lost 15-3 in their recent league challenge against Bullock Creek (Midland, MI)
