The Newton Eagles softball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Red Hill Salukis to 0 in the Eagles league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Newton moves its record to 12-4 on the year. The Eagles travel to Lawrenceville (Lawrenceville, IL) to clash with the Indians in a Little Illini game on Thursday, April 21. The Indians come into the game with a record of 3-5. Lawrenceville won 17-0 in their recent non-league game against Washington (Washington, IN)

In their next game, the Salukis clash with the Martinsville Bluestreaks (Martinsville, IL) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, April 19. Red Hill will attempt to move on its 0-5 season record. The Bluestreaks come into the game with a 2-7 record after their 12-0 non-league loss to Neoga (Neoga, IL).
