Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA), 5-0 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 7-0 record. They take the field next when they host Great Bridge for a Southeastern challenge on Thursday, April 20. Nansemond River will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Lakeland (Suffolk, VA). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-2.

With the loss, Hickory falls to 7-2 on the campaign. The Hawks host King's Fork (Suffolk, VA) to clash with the Bulldogs in a Southeastern game on Thursday, April 20. The Bulldogs come into the game with a record of 2-5. King's Fork lost 23-16 in their recent non-league game against Heritage (Newport News, VA)
