The Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL) softball nipped the visiting Pontiac Indians (Pontiac, IL), 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league bout.
The Spartans (10-2) will now prepare for their bout against Auburn (Auburn, IL). The Trojans go into the Sangamo bout with a 13-6 record. In their last bout, Auburn was edged by Springfield (Springfield, IL), 5-3, in a non-league bout.
The Indians now possess a 9-6 record. They play next when they host St. Joseph-Ogden for a Illini Prairie bout on Thursday, April 20. Pontiac will confront a Spartans squad coming off a 13-3 non-league win over Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 13-7.
