The Volcano Vista Hawks softball team scored 19 runs and held the host Sandia Matadors to 9 in the Hawks non-league win on Thursday.

The Hawks now sport a 10-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cibola for a non-league battle on Saturday, April 20. Volcano Vista will confront a Cougars team coming off a 16-4 non-league win over Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM). The Cougars record now stands at 8-3.

With the loss, Sandia moves to 1-7 on the season. The Matadors travel to La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM) to confront the Bears in a non-league battle on Saturday, April 20. The Bears come into the battle with a record of 13-0. La Cueva won 13-2 in their recent league battle against Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM)
