Fairfield Falcons (Goshen, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lakeland Lakers (LaGrange, IN), 9-2 in a league challenge.

The Falcons now sport a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Prairie Heights for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 22. Fairfield will face a Panthers squad coming off a 11-1 league loss to Eastside (Butler, IN). The Panthers record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Lakeland falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Lakers host East Noble (Kendallville, IN) to face the Knights in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 4-1. East Noble lost 1-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Eastside (Butler, IN)
