The Goodhue Wildcats got by the visiting Lake City Tigers softball squad by a count of 5-4 in Thursday's league battle.

The Wildcats (2-5) will now prepare for their battle against Rushford-Peterson (Rushford, MN). The Trojans go into the non-league battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, Rushford-Peterson was edged by Caledonia (Caledonia, MN), 17-2, in a non-league battle.

The Tigers now sport a 1-4 record. They play next when they host Zumbrota-Mazeppa for a Hiawatha Valley battle on Friday, April 19. Lake City will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 8-7 league loss to Byron (Byron, MN). The Cougars record now stands at 4-2.
