The Otay Ranch Mustangs softball team scored 9 runs and limited the visiting Mar Vista Mariners to 8 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Otay Ranch moves its record to 10-8 on the year. The Mustangs host Bonita Vista (Chula Vista, CA) to clash with the Barons in a Metro Mesa game on Monday, April 22. The Barons come into the game with a record of 11-8. Bonita Vista lost 16-5 in their recent non-league game against Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, CA)

In their next game, the Mariners clash with the Bayfront Charter Sharks (Chula Vista, CA) in a non-league game, on Monday, April 22. Mar Vista will attempt to move on its 7-10 season record. The Sharks come into the game with a 7-8 record after their 13-1 league win over Liberty Charter (Alpine, CA).
