Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC), 4-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Warhorses now sport a 13-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Freedom for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 22. Owen will face a Patriots squad coming off a 4-3 league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 8-11.

With the loss, Swain County falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Maroon devils host Murphy (Murphy, NC) to face the Bulldogs in a Smoky Mountain 1A challenge on Monday, April 22. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 11-1. Murphy won 16-0 in their recent league challenge against Hayesville (Hayesville, NC)
