The St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans (St. Joseph, IL) baseball trounced the visiting Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL), 16-4 in Friday's non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 16-2 record. They take the field next when they host Prairie Central for a Illini Prairie challenge on Monday, April 21. St. Joseph-Ogden will clash with a Hawks team coming off a 2-0 league win over Rantoul (Rantoul, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 5-11.

With the defeat, Normal University drops to 12-3 on the year. The Pioneers host Moline (Moline, IL) to clash with the Maroons in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 19. The Maroons go into the challenge with a record of 9-6. Moline lost 5-4 in their recent league test against Sterling (Sterling, IL)
