The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL) and the host Effingham Hearts (Effingham, IL), observed Champaign Central's softball team prevail over Effingham by a tally of 13-1.

The Maroons (11-1) will now prepare for their bout against Normal Community (Normal, IL). The Ironmen go into the Big Twelve bout with a 3-8 record. In their last bout, Normal Community knocked off Centennial (Champaign, IL), 13-0, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Hearts clash with the Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL) in a Apollo bout, on Saturday, April 19. Effingham will attempt to advance on its 7-5 season record. The Greenwave go into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 5-3 non-league loss to Cumberland (Toledo, IL).
