The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Newport Harbor Sailors (Newport Beach, CA) and the host Portola Bulldogs (Irvine, CA), observed Newport Harbor's softball team prevail over Portola by a tally of 16-2.

The Sailors (10-11) will now prepare for their bout against Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos, CA). The Griffins go into the Sunset bout with a 12-9 record. In their last bout, Los Alamitos knocked off Cypress (Cypress, CA), 5-4, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Oxford Academy Patriots (Cypress, CA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, April 19. Portola will attempt to advance on its 5-9 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 15-6 record after their 13-6 league loss to Cerritos (Cerritos, CA).
