In Friday's league match, the host Newport Tigers softball team scored a tight 4-0 win over the Raymond Rams.

The Tigers (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Conant (Jaffrey, NH). The Orioles come into the Division III match with a 3-1 record. In their last match, Conant nipped Trinity (Manchester, NH), 7-6, in a league match.

In their next game, the Rams battle the Kearsarge Cougars (North Sutton, NH) in a Division III match, on Monday, April 21. Raymond will attempt to better on its 0-2 season record. The Cougars come into the match with a 0-4 record after their 8-7 league loss to Belmont (Belmont, NH).
