De Smet Jesuit Spartans (St. Louis, MO) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Gateway Legacy Christian Academy Lions (Florissant, MO), 4-3 in a non-league test.

With the win, De Smet Jesuit upgrades its record to 1-3 on the season. The Spartans travel to Eureka (Eureka, MO) to battle the Wildcats in a Class 6 District 3 test on Friday, April 22. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 15-2.

With the defeat, Gateway Legacy Christian Academy falls to 13-2 on the season. The Lions host Vashon (St. Louis, MO) to battle the Wolverines in a non-league test on Monday, April 25. The Wolverines come into the test with a record of 0-1. Vashon lost 11-1 in their recent non-league test against McCluer South-Berkeley (Ferguson, MO)
