The Marvin Ridge Mavericks softball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting West Stanly Colts to 2 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Marvin Ridge moves its record to 5-1 on the year. The Mavericks travel to Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC) to play the Pirates in a non-league game on Friday, April 21. The Pirates come into the game with a record of 1-5. Porter Ridge won 12-6 in their recent non-league game against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC)

In their next game, the Colts play the Parkwood Wolf Pack (Monroe, NC) in a non-league game, on Thursday, April 20. West Stanly will attempt to move on its 8-3 season record. The Wolf Pack come into the game with a 1-2 record after their 8-0 non-league win over Anson (Wadesboro, NC).
