Alden-Hebron Green Giants (Hebron, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Hiawatha Hawks (Kirkland, IL), 18-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Green Giants now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Beloit for a Northeastern Athletic Conference challenge on Thursday, April 20. Alden-Hebron will battle a Sobos squad coming off a 11-1 non-league loss to River Ridge/Scales Mound (Hanover, IL). The Sobos record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Hiawatha falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Indian Creek (Shabbona, IL) to battle the Timberwolves in a Little Ten challenge on Thursday, April 20. The Timberwolves enter the challenge with a record of 6-6. Indian Creek won 3-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Rochelle (Rochelle, IL)
