The Asheboro Blue Comets softball team scored 12 runs and limited the visiting Wheatmore Warriors to 10 in the Blue Comets non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Asheboro moves its record to 1-13 on the year. The Blue Comets host North Davidson (Lexington, NC) to clash with the Black Knights in a Mid-Piedmont 3A game on Friday, April 21. The Black Knights come into the game with a record of 10-4. North Davidson lost 14-7 in their recent league game against Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC)

In their next game, the Warriors clash with the Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) in a Piedmont Athletic 1A/2A game, on Thursday, April 20. Wheatmore will attempt to move on its 5-12 season record. The Cougars come into the game with a 15-0 record after their 4-0 league win over Eastern Randolph (Ramseur, NC).
