The Lexington Minutemen softball team scored 17 runs and limited the visiting Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs to 7 in the Minutemen league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Lexington moves its record to 6-8 on the year. The Minutemen host Benet Academy (Lisle, IL) to play the Redwings in a non-league game on Saturday, April 22. The Redwings come into the game with a record of 12-2. Benet Academy won 13-5 in their recent league game against Saint Viator (Arlington Heights, IL)

In their next game, the Chiefs play the Fisher Bunnies (Fisher, IL) in a Heart of Illinois game, on Friday, April 21. Deer Creek-Mackinaw will attempt to move on its 5-9 season record. The Bunnies come into the game with a 12-5 record after their 8-0 league loss to Heyworth (Heyworth, IL).
