In Wednesday's non-league outing, the host Johnston City Indians softball team scored a close 5-4 win over the Salem Wildcats.

Coming up next, the Indians battle the Vienna Eagles (Vienna, IL) in a Black Diamond West outing, on Thursday, April 20. Johnston City will attempt to upgrade on its 18-4 season record. The Eagles enter the outing with a 7-7 record after their 13-1 non-league win over Cobden (Cobden, IL).

With the loss, Salem falls to 13-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Lawrenceville (Lawrenceville, IL) to face the Indians in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 22. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 5-7.
