Weston Trojans (Weston, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars (Bridgeport, CT), 9-6 in a league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bethel for a Southwest - Patriot challenge on Friday, April 21. Weston will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 17-0 league loss to Newtown (Newtown, CT). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Kolbe-Cathedral falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Cougars host New Milford (New Milford, CT) to battle the Green Wave in a Southwest - Patriot challenge on Friday, April 21. The Green Wave enter the challenge with a record of 6-3. New Milford won 9-3 in their recent league challenge against Notre Dame Catholic (Fairfield, CT)
