Oppenheim-Ephratah Hawks (St. Johnsville, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Middleburgh Knights (Middleburgh, NY), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Fort Plain for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 21. Oppenheim-Ephratah will face a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 11-9 non-league win over Richfield Springs Central (Richfield Springs, NY). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Middleburgh falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Knights host Fonda-Fultonville (Fonda, NY) to face the Braves in a Section 2 Western - Northern challenge on Friday, April 21. The Braves enter the challenge with a record of 1-1.
