Illinois High School Softball - Newman Central Catholic can't get by Newark

In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Newark Norsemen (Newark, IL) softball team held off the host Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL), by a margin of 3-2.

With the triumph, Newark moves its record to 15-1 on the year. The Norsemen host Illinois Math & Science Academy (Aurora, IL) to play the Titans in a Little Ten contest on Friday, April 21. The Titans come into the contest with a record of 0-5. Illinois Math & Science Academy lost 5-3 in their recent league contest against Earlville (Earlville, IL)

In their next game, the Comets play the Hall Red Devils (Spring Valley, IL) in a Three Rivers East contest, on Thursday, April 20. Newman Central Catholic will attempt to move on its 6-4 season record.
