Portsmouth Trojans (Portsmouth, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Rock Hill Redmen (Ironton, OH), 10-9 in a league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Waverly for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 20. Portsmouth will face a Tigers squad coming off a 10-4 league loss to Northwest (McDermott, OH). The Tigers record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Rock Hill falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Redmen host Fairland (Proctorville, OH) to face the Dragons in a Ohio Valley challenge on Friday, April 21. The Dragons enter the challenge with a record of 10-3. Fairland won 16-0 in their recent league challenge against South Point (South Point, OH)
