Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bunnell Bulldogs (Stratford, CT), 5-2 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Naugatuck for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20. Pomperaug will battle a Greyhounds squad coming off a 5-0 non-league loss to Watertown (Watertown, CT). The Greyhounds record now stands at 5-2.

With the loss, Bunnell falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Brookfield (Brookfield, CT) to battle the Bobcats in a Southwest - Colonial challenge on Monday, April 22. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 2-2.
