The Volcano Vista Hawks softball team scored 9 runs and limited the host Cibola Cougars to 8 in the Hawks league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Volcano Vista improves its record to 9-13 on the year. The Hawks host Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM) to clash with the Jaguars in a 5A District 1 game on Tuesday, April 23. The Jaguars come into the game with a record of 8-15. Atrisco Heritage Academy lost 11-7 in their recent league game against Rio Rancho (Rio Rancho, NM)

In their next game, the Cougars clash with the Cleveland Storm (Rio Rancho, NM) in a 5A District 1 game, on Tuesday, April 23. Cibola will attempt to improve on its 15-8 season record. The Storm come into the game with a 9-13 record after their 14-3 non-league loss to Los Lunas (Los Lunas, NM).
