Fitch Falcons (Groton, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host St. Bernard Saints (Uncasville, CT), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Falcons now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Old Lyme for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20. Fitch will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 14-1 league win over Cromwell (Cromwell, CT). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, St. Bernard falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Saints travel to Woodstock Academy (Woodstock, CT) to battle the Centaurs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20. The Centaurs enter the challenge with a record of 2-5. Woodstock Academy lost 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Norwich Free Academy (Norwich, CT)
