Freeburg Midgets (Freeburg, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Teutopolis Wooden Shoes (Teutopolis, IL), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Midgets now own a 18-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Alton-Wood River for a Cahokia - Mississippi challenge on Tuesday, April 23.

With the loss, Teutopolis falls to 11-11 on the campaign. The Wooden shoes travel to Effingham (Effingham, IL) to battle the Flaming Hearts in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 22. The Flaming Hearts enter the challenge with a record of 11-5. Effingham won 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Carbondale (Carbondale, IL)
