In Friday's non-league contest, the Northeast Vikings (Arma, KS) softball team held off the host Girard Trojans (Girard, KS), by a margin of 5-4.
With the triumph, Northeast moves its record to 5-3 on the year. The Vikings host Frontenac (Frontenac, KS) to play the Raiders in a non-league contest on Monday, April 29. The Raiders come into the contest with a record of 7-0.
Next, the Trojans face the Chanute Blue Comets (Chanute, KS) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, April 23. Girard will attempt to advance on its 1-9 season record.
