Goddard Lions (Goddard, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hutchinson Salthawks (Hutchinson, KS), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Maize South for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 23. Goddard will face a Mavericks squad coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Haysville Campus (Wichita, KS). The Mavericks record now stands at 11-2.

With the loss, Hutchinson falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Salthawks host Andover Central (Andover, KS) to face the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 22. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 6-3.
