Shamokin Area Indians (Coal Township, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes (Schuylkill Haven, PA), 16-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Our Lady of Lourdes Regional for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20. Shamokin Area will battle a Red Raiders squad coming off a 10-4 league loss to Blue Mountain (Schuylkill Haven, PA). The Red Raiders record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Schuylkill Haven falls to 8-4 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Jim Thorpe (Jim Thorpe, PA) to battle the Olympians in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20. The Olympians enter the challenge with a record of 3-7. Jim Thorpe lost 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Northern Lehigh (Slatington, PA)
