The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) and the host Downers Grove North Trojans (Downers Grove, IL), observed Shepard's softball team get by Downers Grove North by a tally of 7-1.

The Astros (12-2) will now prepare for their bout against Oak Lawn (Oak Lawn, IL). The Spartans go into the South Suburban bout with a 7-7 record. In their last bout, Oak Lawn tipped Niles West (Skokie, IL), 9-8, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Lyons Lions (LaGrange, IL) in a West Suburban - Silver bout, on Monday, April 21. Downers Grove North will attempt to advance on its 4-7 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 12-1 non-league loss to Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, IL).
